Honda Motorcycles Recalled Due to Fuel Pump Issue

Honda Recall Honda of North America is recalling certain Grom 125cc motorcycles as well as NSS300/NSS300S scooters over problems with a dangerous fuel pump issue that could lead to a stall, potentially causing a crash. Affected bikes are:
  • 2014-2015 Honda GROM125s
  • 2014 02015 Honda SS300
According to National Highway Transportation Safety Administration (NHTSA), "the resin bracket inside the fuel pump may swell and cause the pump impeller to seize. If the fuel pump seizes, the motorcycle will stall, increasing the risk of a crash." Honda is about to notify owners of the affected bikes and instruct them to go to the nearest dealerships. Technicians will replace the fuel pump assemble with one that uses a metal bracket. All work is free of charge. This recall, which is 16V-661, supersedes recall 14V-672, which also dealt with a fuel pump issue. Motorcycles hat were remedied under that campaign are affected by this one as well and need to have the fuel pump replaced again. To see if your ride is affected type in your VIN number. Questions?
